Complete laboratory testing device for skid resistance prediction and polishing resistance of asphalt, concrete and aggregates by Wehner/Schulze method according to EN 12697-49:2014

After many years of research work in different Universities and material testing institutes a new FAP device is developed, which includes the conclusions of experiences and results.
APS didn´t change the original technical measuring concept, but modernized and optimized the technicalcomponents and handling of the system according to international technical requirements and industrial standards in mechanics, electronics and software solution.
Extensive comparative studies were carried out for clear comparison with the results of the previous models.

The following settings are included for the polishing process:

  • Fully automatic test procedure
  • Speed of the polishing head typically: 500 rpm
  • Selectable number of overrollings (typically: 90.000)
  • Constant temperature control for abrasive-water-mixture (typically 14 +/- 2°C)
  • Constant load for polishing head with 392 +/- 3 N
  • Flow rate of the water/quartz flour mixture of 5 l/minemperature control of the water/quartz flour mixture from +5 to +40 °C (typically 8 – 16 °C)

 

The following test parameters are includes for the test process:

  • Fully automatic test procedure
  • Test Freely selectable discharge speed (test start) of the test head, from 0 – 100 +/-5 km/h

  • Selectable temperature with control of water/quartz flour mixture from 5 – 40 °C (typically 20 +/- 2°C) with 0.1 degree accuracy
  • Load of polishing head 392 +/- 3 N (optional changeable)
